Textile / Fabric Weighing Systems
Fabric Weighing Systems are used to test fabric quality by measuring GSM (Grams per square meter) or oz / sq yd to verify whether the fabric meets the quality standards desired. Our Textile Weighing Systems consist of a textile cutter which cuts a predetermined sample size of fabric, and a scale which is preprogrammed to calculate the GSM or OZ/YD SQ of the fabric sample. At Summit Measurement, we offer two different Textile Weighing Systems. Our most popular fabric weighing system is the WT2002TC with cutter. The WT2002TC comes with a manual twist style rotary cutter, a laboratory quality textile balance and a cutting pad, etc. Everything you need to determine the GSM of fabric.
We also proudly carry the Made in USA JA King Fabric Yield Systems, which consist of the SASD-688 cutter and a choice of several preprogrammed scales to measure GSM or OZ/YD SQ according to preferred application. The JA King equipment is very high quality and higher priced.
Each of these systems is intended to work together. It is recommended to purchase the WT2002T Scale with the GSM cutter, and the SASD-688 cutter with the JA King scales. They cannot be interchanged because the cutters cut different sized fabric samples. In each system the scale and cutter can be purchased separately as seen below. We also offer other options for the GSM cutter when a higher capacity is needed.
